Explores the tension between progress and environmental awareness of Tallebudgera Creek, focusing on our often passive role in navigating the waves of change. As we ride the crest of technological and societal advancements, this work questions whether we have actively chosen our path or if we have unwittingly drifted along, unaware of the impact on our surroundings.

The piece reflects on our tendency to overlook the consequences of progress, where we view changes over time from what was once a sand flat to now where a  deep river mouth forms due to annual dredging. Highlighting a detachment from the natural world that has allowed us to accept changes without fully understanding their implications. It prompts a critical examination of our role in shaping the environment and the potential costs of our actions.

Emphasizing the need for deliberate stewardship of nature. It serves as a reminder that the voice of the environment will only be heard when it is on the brink of being lost, urging us to advocate for its protection and to be more conscious of the delicate balance between advancement and ecological preservation.
